What you share with Name Jogger.
- Account: your name, email address, and Apple or Google sign-in identifier. Apple may provide a private relay email address when you choose Hide My Email.
- Saved people: names, notes, meeting places and dates, remembered status, and record creation and update times. These records are associated with your account.
- Optional AI processing: saved contact text and search prompts when you explicitly enable AI. The service stores your consent choice, disclosure version, and acceptance time.
- Purchases: Apple transaction and product identifiers, verification state, and subscription expiry. Apple handles payment. Name Jogger does not ask for your payment-card details.
- Operations and support: information you send when requesting help and limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as request paths, error events, and network connection information.
Only save information you have a right to use. Avoid sensitive information about yourself or other people. Name Jogger does not identify people from photographs or facial recognition.
How information is used.
We use this information to authenticate your account, save and retrieve your people, show remembering progress, provide optional AI search, verify purchases, answer support requests, and operate and secure the service. We do not sell saved contact content or use your notes to target advertising.
AI is your choice.
Saving people and ordinary keyword search work without AI. Before AI processing, the app explains the data sharing and asks you to explicitly allow it. You can review or change your choice in Settings → Privacy & AI.
If enabled, names, notes, meeting dates, and places are sent to Google’s Gemini embedding service when you add or update people. Previously saved people are also sent in batches when you use AI search, and your AI search prompts are sent to Google. Google returns numerical search representations, which Name Jogger stores with your contacts to find similar descriptions.
Turning AI off stops new AI requests and removes the stored contact search representations. It cannot stop requests already in progress or recall information already processed by Google. Your original notes remain available until you edit or delete them.
Google processes submitted information according to the applicable API terms and configuration. This policy does not promise that processing stays on your device or that Google never retains or uses submitted content. Google Gemini API terms · Google privacy policy.
Providers, processing and security.
Apple and Google process sign-in under their own terms. Apple processes payments and subscriptions. Our hosting and database providers process information to run the service, and Google processes the text you permit for AI. Providers may process information in countries different from where you live. Contact us for information about the providers and processing locations used for your account.
The app stores session credentials in iOS Keychain. Optional Face ID or Touch ID unlock uses Apple’s device authentication system; Name Jogger does not receive your biometric template. Server records are not stored exclusively on your iPhone. We use access controls and secure transport in production, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Your choices and account deletion.
You can edit or delete individual people in the app. To permanently delete your account, open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm with a fresh sign-in. The service removes your active account, saved people, notes, stored contact search representations, and sign-in sessions. Uninstalling or signing out does not do this.
For accounts linked to Sign in with Apple, the service also attempts to revoke Apple authorization. If Apple authorization cannot be revoked automatically, the app explains how to stop using Sign in with Apple through Apple ID settings; your Name Jogger account is still deleted.
Apple subscriptions continue separately until cancelled. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription or automatically transfer a purchase to a future account.
Email [email protected] for access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal, or other applicable privacy requests. We may verify ownership to protect your data. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restriction, objection, portability, or a complaint to your local privacy authority. Where consent is the basis for processing, withdrawing it does not undo processing already carried out.
How long information stays.
Account records and saved people are kept while your account is active, until you delete them or request account deletion. Active account deletion occurs when the confirmed request succeeds. Limited records may be retained where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute.
Backup copies, if maintained by the hosting provider, are removed through backup rotation rather than immediately editing every backup. Operational log and backup schedules depend on the deployed infrastructure; contact [email protected] for the applicable schedule. Restoring a backup must not permanently restore previously deleted accounts.
The current app does not cache new AI search queries or their representations in Redis. Query representations cached by an earlier backend version may remain until their original 30-day expiry unless cleared during rollout.
This website and age suitability.
The website adds no advertising trackers, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics scripts. The optional download-link measurement records an anonymous event and a fixed page placement, without an account identifier, IP address, user-agent string, or referrer in that event. Hosting infrastructure may separately process ordinary connection information to deliver and protect the site.
The interactive search demonstration runs locally with fictional examples. Screenshots show sample data. Name Jogger is intended for people aged 13 and older, subject to any higher local minimum or guardian-consent requirement. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
02 / TERMS OF USE
Use Name Jogger thoughtfully.
Use the service lawfully, keep access to your account secure, and respect the privacy of people you write about. You retain your rights to the content you save and permit us to process it to provide the features you choose. Do not record information unlawfully, harass people, access another person’s account, disrupt the service, or evade subscription limits.
Name Jogger is a personal remembering aid. Search can be incomplete or inaccurate; check results against your own notes. The service does not promise perfect recall or provide medical diagnosis or treatment. Features may depend on compatible devices, internet access, and third-party services. We may change features or suspend access for abuse, subject to applicable law and purchase obligations.
Free and Pro.
The free plan currently allows up to five people still marked as learning. Remembered people do not count toward that limit. An active Pro subscription removes the learning limit. Current pricing, currency, and purchase terms appear in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation.
Pro is a monthly auto-renewing subscription charged to your Apple account. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel through Apple subscription settings. Refund handling is subject to Apple’s applicable terms and processes. Deleting the app or your Name Jogger account does not cancel the subscription.
License and your rights.
The iPhone app is subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement unless an applicable custom license is supplied through the App Store. Service availability and results are not guaranteed. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
We will update this page when our terms or data practices change and provide additional notice when appropriate. Material changes to AI data sharing require a renewed disclosure and consent before that processing.
